Came back from a bike ride today and everything in the garden had been refreshed by rain. It all looked quite pretty, so I took a few pics with my phone. Not great quality but carpe diem and all that. I’ll leave you to guess the flowers/blossom!

Gosh your phone has a good camera! Love the shapes in the last one in particular.
Morning Isobel – it’s not v good with blue, which is why I haven’t posted pics of the carpet of bluebells in the wood. Might try with the other camera. I can’t remember the name of that last yellow flower myself! 😉
1.flowering cherry
2. Flowring cherrt
4. Pansy
5. ? apple
6. ?apple
7. ?viburnum
Hi Pseu – well done. Yes the first two are the same flowering cherry Kanzan which is giving a fabulous show just now in the front garden. (Course, as soon as we get a wind, it’ll be all over everyone’s gardens….)
Then there is a magnolia, and the pansy (I lurve those dark velvety petals) and the apple blossom about to burst forth, the creamy blossom is a japonica, the yellow is a scented azalea, followed by the viburnum ( you got it!) burkwoodii and the yellow flower which I’ll no doubt remember in a few hours when I’m at work. 😀
Crikey, I agree with Isobel, thats some phone you have there Jan. Lovely. As to naming the blossom, Pseu is right…..I think,
Helllooooo Val! Well it’s an HTC Desire phone which is probably a bit old hat now, but it’s one of the things I like best about the “smartphones” – the ability to take a quick piccie or a squirt of vid! 🙂
Lovely flowers
Here are my answers to your ‘quiz’!
1 & 2 Prunus Kanzan (one of my all time favourites)
3 Looks like a pink magnolia stellata (?)
4 Pansy
5 Apple blossom
6 Pear blossom
7 Wonderful, but I’ve no idea what it is!
8 Viburnam – not sure which one
8 Ranunculus
Well done with the ranunculus!! Even I’d forgotten what that was. And the Kanzan.
6 was japonica and 7 was a yellow azalea. 🙂 Actually with all this rain, they are lasting extremely well, although the Kanzan’s taken a batteriing in the winds.
