Back

This feels like turning the key in the front door and opening up my study after several weeks away.  It is, I suppose.  I’ve been trying to hang on to the holiday vibe for a bit longer by not getting completely back to normal just yet.

Have words and photos to post but the continuation of the holidays with superb weather has kept me away from the computer with long leisurely barbecues, entertaining, runs and rides and catching up with family and friends.

This is one of my favourite pics – a Caribbean cuttlefish.

Wow! Where did you go? Last I read, you were planning a lomg weekend in London…

We were, Isobel but it hasn’t materialised yet. Things kept getting in the way.

We went to St Lucia, the Windward island where all the little sweet bananas for M&S and Sainsburys are grown. Huge plantations of them. Wild Atlantic coast on the east, quiet warm Caribbean on the west and tropical rainforests, mountains and a drive-in volcano with bubbling mud pools in between!

PS Back on my bike, and I find I think of you every time I go past the topiary cyclist.

Good! I was in the Forest on the bike yesterday as it happens. Got lost for a while – really lost – but then recognised where we were before having to admit it. Three hours of following your front wheel through acres of dappled shade on a warm day is lovely.

Good to see you back and dipping your toe in the water….

Hi Pseu. 🙂 Dipped more than my toe but resisted the temptation to skinny-dip. Those long-spined urchins are treacherous. Still got four spines in my big toe. Must have brushed them while swimming past and they went straight through my surf shoe like a hot knife through butter.

  4. That looks an awful lot more attractive than the white things that budgies get for their cages!

It sounds like you had a fabulous time 😀

Jan, I’m sorry. I was blinded by the light, and all the other buzz around the affair, but now I see I was in the wrong.
(Talking here about an exchange we had some time ago, not about Carribean.)

Julie! Greetings! Although I have no idea what you are on about, I doubt there is any need for an apology. Just good to see you here and on the Chariot 🙂
I must get and write a blog or two.
